Quality Assurance

qa.jpgQuality Assurance, often referred to as QA, is the work involved in maintaining and managing the quality of a translation.

After initial translation is completed, TOIN carefully checks for quality to ensure that texts are accurate and convey the appropriate meaning in context.

"The QA process is not just a translation check or review. TOIN takes responsibility for quality from the very beginning of the project and throughout its course to continually assess and resolve issues."

We use QA check sheets and query sheets to clarify any questions or issues that arise. We then resolve these issues to create a high quality translation.

TOIN Translators and QA Quality Management

The translators registered with TOIN must pass a rigorous trial and are then sorted into their specialist fields. We only select translators whose specialty matches the contents of the project, which ensures a high quality translation. The QA operator uses the check sheet to thoroughly review the document, from errors and omissions to a detailed contents check.

TOIN Features

  • We support the maintenance of translation quality by creating style guides (translation instructions) and glossaries.
  • Any issues that arise during translation are always identified in a query sheet to make sure that they are clarified and resolved.
  • The dedicated QA leader makes sure that communication is properly performed between the multiple translators and QA operators and that overall consistency is achieved.
  • Initial meetings and progress report meetings can be held with clients, if required, to confirm the contents of the work and monitor the quality level.

QA Leader Workflow

The QA leaders at TOIN follow the procedures below to make sure that the translation meets the client's requirements.

  1. Prepare the project (initial meeting, create a style guide, create a glossary)
  2. Select the translators and checkers (QA)
  3. Check the reference materials
  4. Check the source file
  5. Create the translation kit (create the files for the translator)
  6. Handoff (send the files to the translator)
  7. Sample check
  8. Check the delivered files
  9. Translation check
  10. Check the final document
